Elektraum sculpts an electronic ritual where ancient strings collide with filmic textures, sub-heavy bass and entrancing rhythms. Rooted in Arabic and Turkish traditions yet shaped by psychedelic rock, dub, electronica and trip-hop, his music moves between ritual and rave, meditation and eruption — tracing a line from ancestral trance to contemporary club culture.
Blending timeless soul with modern pulse, Elektraum forges a distinctive sonic identity shaped by the oud’s amplified tone, fluid grooves and textured electronic layers. At the heart of the project, electric oud performer and composer Emmanuel Chehab transforms the instrument’s enduring timbre into a portal — a resonant echo between body and spirit, past and future.
On stage, Elektraum channels a shifting, spellbinding energy: warm analog currents, pulsing low-end, rhythmic tension and moments of suspended silence that break into eruption. The live set unfolds as a continuous arc where voltage, movement and sub-driven momentum converge.
Emmanuel Chehab stands in a lineage of artists who reinvent traditional instruments for the present tense. Inspired as much by the electric radicalism of Jimi Hendrix as by the modal subtleties of Middle Eastern music, he reframes the oud as a contemporary sonic instrument — one capable of carrying introspection, motion, subtle ornament and the weight of deep, physical rhythm.
With a new EP forthcoming and a live show already honed for the stage, Elektraum brings a visceral, hypnotic performance to festivals and venues across Europe.

With “Inward”, Elektraum easily reaches the upper echelons of ethno-dub. The album combines a sense of oriental ecstasy with the science of dub, all tinged with 70s psychedelia.
With a skilful balance between voluptuous sonorities and rugged textures, Elektraum paints an itinerant saga about urban spaces, distant deserts and the spleen of exodus.
Emmanuel Chehab and his oud produce intoxicating sonic alchemies to immerse us in each stage of this soundtrack with echoes of ecstatic romance.
Classical instruments such as the nay flute, the violin and, of course, the oud take center stage, subtly perverted by the use of digital filters and boosted by the inlay of electric guitars and keyboards, as well as the presence of female voices singing in several languages.
With this opus, Elektraum delivers an abundant first work, likely to appeal to a wide range of listeners, from Jah Wooble followers to Thievery Corporation and Mercan Dede fans.
